Friday Night Rugby Returns To Eh12

ImageFriday night rugby returns to EH12 with Edinburgh's opening match of the new Magners League season against Munster set to take place at Murrayfield on Friday, 5 September, kick off 7.30pm and the game will be televised live on Setanta.

The game could be Chris Paterson's first competitive game in the Black and Red in 17 months after his spell at Gloucester; his last Magners League outing for Edinburgh at Murrayfield saw him contribute seven points in a 30-20 win over Newport Gwent Dragons.

The following match will be staged at the RDS against Leinster on Friday 12 September, kick off 7.30pm (shown live on Setanta) and Edinburgh will entertain Llanelli Scarlets on Friday 19 September, kick off 7.30pm.

Remember Edinburgh's opening Pool Two match in the Heineken Cup is against Leinster at Murrayfield on Saturday 11 October, kick off 1.35pm.

Head coach Andy Robinson said: "I am really looking forward to the return of Friday night rugby; it is the perfect way to start the weekend.

"It is also good for the players because it gives them the right amount of time to recover from games.

"We enjoyed some memorable nights at Murrayfield last season and we are looking forward to starting our Magners League campaign against the European champions, Munster on 5 September."
