Kids Enjoy Hard Yards At Greenyards

ImageDespite the onset of torrential rain, Edinburgh's first team squad brightened up the day of over 20 young rugby enthusiasts in Melrose on Tuesday afternoon when they staged a coaching session.

After putting in the hard yards during their own_training session, members of the Black and Red Army, like Ross Rennie and John Houston (pictured),_took the time to hand out a few tips to aspiring players from the local area.

Ross Miller, the Youth Development Officer for Melrose, felt the event had been hugely beneficial with youngsters getting the chance to meet the likes of head coach Andy Robinson, Mike Blair and Chris Paterson.

Miller said: "It was a great experience and a chance for the guys to train with the pros. It is good to be affiliated to the Scottish pro teams and, despite the weather, I think everyone who took part enjoyed it."

All the youngsters who participated in the event were given tickets to come and watch Edinburgh's pre-season friendly against Wasps at Murrayfield on Saturday, 23 August, kick off 2.30pm.
