Head coach Andy Robinson has assembled a vibrant young team with an average age of just 26. In the 41-man playing staff there are 17 Scotland internationalists, only two non-Scottish qualified players and 17 members of the squad were actually born here in the Scottish capital.

Match Preview
Edinburgh Rugby Club will start their Magners Leauge season against Munster at Murrayfield Stadium._ The match will take place on Friday 5th September 2008, kick off 7.30pm.
Edinburgh will be looking to start their season with a win against a very good Munster side which won the Heineken Cup last season._ With Munster finishing on the same points as Edinburgh last season, Edinburgh will know that this will be a tough match having got beaten by them last season both home and away.

Match day Entertainment
Edinburgh Rugby Club's first match of the 2008/09 season will be against Munster in the Magners League._ This match will take place on Friday 5th September, kick off 7.30pm.
Pre-match:_ The President Suite will be closed for this match so we are encouraging supporters to make their way to the Marquee located on the back pitches of Murrayfield Stadium, next to the North stand turnstiles._ Inside the Marquee, Scotia Band will be playing.
The Edinburgh Rugby Challenge, our new pre-match entertainment, will start at this game._ The challenge will be a series of challenges on trackside and around the pitch created by our fitness team._ Four teams of 10 people will take the challenge at every home match with the four quickest teams going head to head at the last home match of the season._ If you would like to submit a team for the Edinburgh Rugby Challenge then please email [email protected] with the following information: team name, matches able to attend and contact number.
We will also have 1 Scots down to play their pipes and drums along with a guard of honour when the players are running out.
Half-time:_ We will have Stewart Melville and Linlithgow P5/P6 playing rugby on the pitch at half-time._ We will also have Scotia band playing on trackside.
Post-match:_ The Marquee on the North stand car park will be open so please make your way here for all the post-match entertainment._ The players and coaching staff will also be in here post-match so why not come along and chat to them about the match that has just finished.
