Oban travelled to Cowal with no firm expectations as this was their first match of the season. The team had only been formed last year and a already one of their players,Julie Campbell had already been selected for the U18 Scotland Development Squad. The Oban squad on the 28th was a diverse mixture from S1 upwards and included several players who had not played a competitive fixture before and also two girls who had never played rugby beforeat all.Oban, having the greater numbers had the luxury of rolling subs, whilst Cowal had a squad of 9 players all who played the entire match. From kick off it was evident that Oban would dominate the match.Try after try ensued, but the game was not entirely one-sided.Oban's defence was tested and often they were caught with missed tackles and lack of formation. There was lots of good running and offloads form the Oban girls and the spirits were running high. The ball was moving well out to the wingers who did what they were meant to do and sprinted powerfully towards the line.Cowal replied several times with some great running and powerful breaks, but their lack of numbers led to fatigue and stoppages for injury.Due to the fact that the S1/2team were playing at the same time, the match was played across the pitch and no posts were available for conversions.

Final score was Oban 105(21 tries)-Cowal 55 (11 tries).
