After the game, coach Stephen Gemmell said: "We made a good start to the tournament. We played well and imposed ourselves on the game early on.

It was great to give the newcomers like Alex Blair, Tom Bury and Ashleah McCulloch a run out. We're going to have a much more difficult second game so we need to keep our feet on the ground.

The more experienced guys like Scott Forrest and Mike Adamson will help keep the boys' composure and ensure we have the right mindset going into the second game of the tournament against Tamariva."
