Scottish Thistles 42 - 7 Singapore Barbarians
The Scotland 7s development squad, the Scottish Thistles, reached the Cup semi-finals at the SCC International Rugby Sevens today with a win another big win, this time over Singapore Barbarians.
Aberdeen's Ashleah McCulloch scored another hat-trick with two tries in the first half, his third coming after the break.
Chris Fusaro also crossed the line in the first half, with Mike Adamson converting all scores, to give the Scots a 21-7 lead at half time.
After the break, the Scots scored another three converted tries, this time via McCulloch's third, and two from Alex Blair. Blair converted all three.
Coach Stephen Gemmell said: "We were disappointed to lose a score - that was a bit of a wake-up call. The players just lost a bit of concentration but they recovered well to put the Barbarians away.
We'll now play Randwick in the quarter-finals. They've got four Australia Sevens players in their squad so they are a strong outfit."
