Deal For Rugby Fans Is 'A' Ok!

As rugby fever sweeps over the nation with the arrival of the Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Tests, Scottish Rugby today announces ticket details for the Scotland 'A' team fixture against Georgia at Firhill next Friday (14 November, kick-off 6pm). Season ticket holders for both Scotland’s professional teams, Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors, will be granted free entry using their season ticket booklet (a voucher from the booklet will be redeemed at the turnstiles).

Those without a season ticket for either pro-team, will be able to purchase tickets - priced £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s, students and OAPs - by calling the ticket centre on 0844 800 3490 (open Monday to Friday, 9am-8pm), online at www.scottishrugby.org or by calling in person to the Scottish Rugby ticket centre at Murrayfield (open Monday to Friday, 9am-8pm).

The Scotland ‘A’ team will play their first fixture on home soil since their record breaking 67-7 win over Ireland at McDiarmid Park in Perth back in February.

Since then, the ‘A’ team reached the final of the 2008 Barclays Churchill Cup in North America.

Their opponents at Firhill, Georgia, are ranked 14th in the world (only five places behind the senior Scotland team), and are affectionately known as “The Lelos”.

The Georgians’ recent form is impressive and just last season, they lifted the European Nations Cup with a 22-20 victory over Spain in the final and the IRB Nations Cup, defeating Italy ‘A’ 25-3. Last year at the Rugby World Cup, they came agonisingly close to defeating Ireland, only losing out 10-14 and enjoyed their first ever victory at the final stages of the tournament with a 30-0 success against Namibia.
