The match is the second and final preparatory fixture for the squad since gathering together in camp over the Christmas period and Eamon John, Scotland under-20 head coach, believes it will offer the ideal test as they go into the 6 Nations January camp.

John said: “I expect Edinburgh to try and move us about a bit in a typical Edinburgh style. We’ll be going in against a mature and experienced side and again the physical intensity that comes with that will provide another good test for the players.

“We’re looking to take a step forward, taking the positives from the first half of the Glasgow game and try to play for a little longer as we move closer to the Welsh game.”

Scotland under-20s 6 Nations Championship will begin at home against Wales on Friday 6 February.
