Clacks Colts U-18 26-7 Dundee Eagles.
On a great day for playing open rugby, the young Clacks side continued their fine form in the league with an impressive win over a large Dundee outfit. Clacks opened the scoring early after the forwards secured quick ball from a ruck, allowing the backs to move the ball quickly out wide for Fraser Donaldson to score in the corner. Gregor Manson converted. Dundee levelled the scores after some dubious decisions allowed the home side in for their only score. Clacks regained the lead after turnover ball was quickly recycled out through the backs and Donaldson added his second try. Half time 12-7.
A period of pressure at the start of the second half saw the visitors pinned in their own half. Once again however, the forwards turned over a ruck and quick hands saw Jordan Usher leave 5 defenders in his trail to score under the posts. Clacks were looking dangerous every time they got their hands on the ball only for some poor ball retention preventing them from adding to their tally. Fraser Donaldson rounded off the scoring with a fine individual try, picking up on the halfway and outstripping the home defence. Gregor Manson converted both. A very disciplined performance from the boys and a well deserved win.
