Over 60 girls attended trials for selection to the SWRU Academy this weekend.
Run at Craigmount High School in Edinburgh, the event saw four women ex internationalists coaching the girls, whose average age was 19 1/2 - highlighting how more players are coming through the U18 programme and developing through the Academy.
The aim of the Academy is to develop basic core skills in preparation for players moving up to the development and full squad.
Selected players (below) will begin their training on Saturday 31 January (9.30am start) at Craigmount High School, under the guidance of head coach Donna Kennedy and assistant coach, Claire Cruikshank - both ex internationalists - looking ahead to a fixture with British Colleges on 14 February 2009.
