Melrose captain John Dalziel will join Glasgow and Scotland centre Andy Henderson as one of 14 new Barbarians included in the squad for the 82nd Mobbs Memorial Match against Bedford Blues on 7 April (kick-off 7.30pm).

Fellow Scottish cap Iain Fullarton will pack down in the second row with young prospect Richie Gray while Sale Sharks and England prop Stuart Turner will also make his Baa-Baas' debut.

Barbarians' president Micky Steele-Bodger said, “The annual Mobbs Memorial Match is an opportunity to bring together experienced players with up and coming youngsters from the clubs and national squads. With that in mind we have invited the likes of Rory Clegg from the England under-20 team as well as Richie Gray from Scotland while another Scotland under-20 product, Ross Samson, is invited back having done well for us last season.

“At the same time there are fine club servants like David Jackson, Nicholas Royle and Henno Venter who will become new Barbarians. We are also very pleased that players such as Craig Hammond and Luke Sherriff who have played for us several times in recent seasons are again available. Our close ties with Cornish rugby are also recognised by our invitation to Redruth's Darren Jacques.”

The Mobbs Memorial Match was first played against East Midlands in 1921 and in 2008 the Bedford Blues became the opposition to the Barbarians.

For this year's match the Barbarians will be coached by Nottingham's director of rugby, Glenn Delaney who played for the Baa-Baas against London Irish in 2003 and Leicester Tigers the following season. He said, “It's a huge honour to have been asked to coach such a wonderful side and I have no doubt it will be one of the highlights of my coaching career.”
