National Coaching Theme @Oban Rfc

National Coaching Theme Roadshow 2009 – Glasgow North                                                 

Oban Lorne RFC hosts the start of the National Coaching Theme Roadshow – The National Coaching Themes are used through the National Player Pathway to identify talented individuals and develop all of the players’ involved within the Pathway.

The event on Sunday 2nd August (10am to 3pm) is open to all coaches and parents interested to learn about the National Coaching Themes and the National Player Pathway.  The Roadshow will continue around Glasgow throughout the season – for further details please check the Scottish Rugby Website or contact Performance Development Manager Nic Humphries (nic.humphries@sru.org.uk)

Oban Lorne Roadshow – Sunday 2nd August

10am to 12noon – The National Theme Coaching Session.  An Outdoor coaching session involving the Argyll & Bute Tigers U15 Pathway Squad – The Hand Catch, off loading, ball presentation and individual tackle technique are the topics through the 2 hour session, led by SRU Performance Development Manager Nic Humphries and the Pathway Coaching Team.

 

12.30 to 13.00 – Coaching Practice and Role of the Coach – an indoor theory session from SRU Regional Development Manager Kenny Brown.

 

13.00 to 13.15 – The National Player Pathway – An overview of the Pathway by Nic Humphries.

 

13.45 to 15.00 – Skill Clinics – A variety of skill clinics looking at both player and coach development.  Includes a scrum update from specialist coach Jimmy Sinclair.
