Earlsfield has been a hive of activity during the summer months as the club embarked on major groundwork’s to level the playing surface of the 1st XV pitch as well as providing a face lift to the interior of the clubhouse changing facilities. The club would like to this opportunity to thank everyone involved for their efforts.
However, not all of the hard work has been confined to the surrounds as the playing squad has been put through their paces since the first week in July. The pre-season efforts culminated in a hard fought victory on Saturday as Edinburgh side, Leith, provided the opposition in which Alloa managed to squeeze a narrow 7-5 victory. The performance was a big improvement from the previous weeks, when the local side disappointed against Loch Lomond.
Last year’s league winners, Alloa could not have asked for a tougher start to the league campaign as they play host to second placed side, Harris this Saturday. KO 3pm.
However, the young side have shown plenty of promise in recent weeks as they come to terms with the disappointment of losing captain and player of the year, Rab Truesdale along with players player of the year, Dale Foster, both of whom have joined newly promoted Premier Div 2 side, Dunfermline. The club would like to wish both players every success for next season.
