Another Big Win Away Keeps Orkney Rfc On Top

ORKNEY Rugby Club's tremendous start to the 2009-10 season continued on Saturday with a 50-0 win away at Kinross.

Man of the match for Orkney Chris Guthrie scored three of his side's eight tries, with the others coming from captain John Dearness, Garry Burton, William Thomson and Andrew Cuddihy, along with a penalty try.

The victory keeps Orkney top of Scottish Hydro Caledonia League Division 1 on 24 points - with five wins from five, four of them with a bonus point for scoring four or more tries. Second are St Andrews University on 20, with third placed Strathmore on19. Both have a game in hand, against Stirling University and Aberdeen University respectively, due to be played on November 14.

Orkney's next match is on Saturday, October 3, at home to Mackie Academy FP, who are currently bottom of the table and yet to win a match.
