The National Development League took place on Sunday 15th November, hosted by University of Edinburgh, at Peffermill.
On a cold but bright afternoon 30 players from 6 clubs, joined in a session lead by Head Coach, Phil Mackey with his coaching team of, Paul Hunter and Mark Coull.
With a mixture of experience amongst the players, from complete beginners to players who have been playing for several years, the coached session comprised of handling and tackling drills before a competitive game to end the day and allowing the players to put the new skills they had learnt into practice.
Broughton RFC fielded 13 players and by joining in with the 2 players from Watsonians, played against the rest, made up from Edinburgh Uni, Oban Lorne and Heriot-Watt Uni. Broughton/Watsonians ran in 9 tries to be worthy winners of NDL day 2. Next NDL fixture is 6th December, venue to be confirmed.
