Deeside S1'S And S2'S Vs Grammar

Deeside S1’s and S2’s played two games against Aberdeen Grammar at Rubislaw last Sunday.  The S1’s played a mix and match game with players from both squads swapping sides while the S2’s played a 15 aside game of two 25 minute halves.   In the S2 game, two tries by Wood and one by Mullins, reflected Deeside’s dominance in the forwards and saw them sitting on a comfortable half time lead.  However, Grammar came out more determined in the second half and despite another try from Mullins, Deeside let the game slip away in the very last minute when some missed tackles and failure to close down the space on the wings allowed Grammar to score their fourth try and win by one conversion 24:22. This was a game that Deeside know they should have won although they can be pleased that it was a much improved performance on last weeks game with Garioch.
