In the last phase of the Caledonia leagues Deeside U15’s recorded a good three try to one win over Dunfermaline away from home. This was a hard fought very physical game against sizeable opposition, but Deeside always looked the more organised side and recorded the only score of the first half when hooker Hart drove over after picking up the quickly recycled ball from a ruck 10 metres out. With such a long journey for the game Deeside we in no mood to let this game slip and with only two minutes of the second half played Rennie crossed for a second try in the corner, the opportunity once again coming from quick ruck ball. The win was sealed when with only ten minutes left to play Christie stole the ball on the opposition lineout only 10 metres out, set up a driving a maul and finished off the move as the ball popped out of the following ruck. The quick distribution of Hillier at scrum half was instrumental throughout the game in always keeping Dunfermaline on the backfoot. A series of penalties late in the second half saw Deeside concede 30 metres of territory and some powerful rucking from Dunfermaline allowed the blind side flanker to stretch for the line for a well deserved try. With this win Deeside have now overcome excellent opposition from both of the Midlands Caledonia regional leagues and can be satisfied with an excellent league performance. The final target for the season is the Caledonia Cup to be played in St Andrews on the 9th May, when Deeside will compete in the final against Stirling County U15.
