On Saturday 8th May 2010, the Mackie Junior Section will be hosting their Annual Mini Rugby Tournament at Mackie Academy Playing Fields on Slug Road in Stonehaven. This year’s tournament is sponsored by Petrotechnics, and there will be five competitions, for the Micros (Primary 2 and 3) the Primary 4s, the Primary 5s, the Primary 6s and the Primary 7s. Teams representing Aberdeen Grammar, Aberdeen Wanderers, Alford, Carnoustie, CIYMS (from Northern Ireland), Deeside, Ellon, Garioch, Highland, Montrose, Perthshire and Strathmore, and of course the home squads from Mackie, will be taking part, so why not come along to the biggest Minis Rugby Tournament in the North East of Scotland (and one of the biggest in the country). The first match is scheduled to kick-off at 10:30 am, and the final prize giving will take place at about 3:00 - 3:30 pm. Everyone is welcome, and there’s no entrance charge. There will be a refreshment tent, a magnificent raffle (tickets come free, when you purchase a programme), and about 600 children trying to prove that they are going to be the next Scottish rugby superstar.
