Clydebank Launches S1/S2 Academy

On Tuesday 22 February, Clydebank RFC successfully launched their S1/S2 Academy in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Active Schools and their local Rugby Development Officers.
A good turnout for the first academy session
The evening saw 35 new rugby players attend their first training session at Clydebank RFC under the expert guidance of coach Michael Starkey.

The launch was supported by Glasgow Warriors with Colin Shaw, Hefin O'Hare and Finlay Gillies attending the session to offer support and advice to all the young participants.

The S1/S2 Academy is the result of four months of after school rugby sessions, where Assistant Rugby Development Officer Callum Harris put new players from St. Peter the Apostle and Clydebank High Schools through their paces.

The squad now look forward to their first fixture at the S1/S2 Rugby Festival at Cartha Queens Park RFC on Sunday 27 March.

To find out where your local S1/S2 festival will be held please contact your local Rugby Development Officer.
