Scot To Officiate At British And Irish Cup Final

Scottish referee Andrew McMenemy, in his first year as a professional, will be in charge of Saturday’s British & Irish Cup Final between Bristol and Bedford Blues at the Memorial Stadium in Bristol.

McMenemy, 26, from Gala, will be supported by two fellow Scots as assistant referees, the experienced Rob Dickson (Madras Rugby) and his fellow Fifer, Graeme Marshall (Kirkcaldy).  The match will be shown live on Sky Sports with a 5.05pm kick-off

McMenemy (pictured) was chosen by a four-man selection panel from the four nations from which clubs compete.

Scottish Rugby’s referees’ manager Roy McCombe said: “This appointment is the culmination of a very good first season as a professional referee for Andrew.”

During the past year McMenemy has also controlled New Zealand v South Africa matches – at the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s and the Women’s World Cup.
