Gytes Gossip

Last Friday Peebles Concert Band held a successful musical evening in the Eastgate Clubrooms accompanied by Tootie Fluttie in front of a large and appreciative audience. Band leader Dan Ward would like to thank all who can along to support.

On Saturday evening a small number of enthusiastic teams turned out for the quiz night in favour of Peebles High School Zambia Project. Quizmaster Tom Menzies – fast becoming the new Jeremy Paxman - came up with another night of mental gymnastics for the teams to tackle - ranging from identifying X-Factor finalists to deciding which countries were bigger or smaller than France. The night was enjoyed by all who took part and thanks are due to Liam Hope who set up the evening and to all who helped in any way – the post-quiz pasta was well appreciated by those whose brains were in need of sustaining by that time.

Beltane week is fast approaching now that we are into the month of June – members can get details of the club programme for the week from the club noticeboard.

Preparations are also now under way for the club AGM which will be held on Friday 1st July at 7:30pm in the Eastgate clubrooms – all members are asked to make the effort to attend. Details are now available on the club noticeboard. There are still some posts to be filled for the coming season and as usual all volunteers will be made most welcome.

Later this summer Peebles RFC DO George Blair will be running a summer skills camp in conjunction with Peebles High School Rugby – this will take place in August during the last week of the school holidays.
