Lismore Rfc Coaching Opportunity

Lismore RFC are seeking to recruit a High Level Coach who has the ability to motivate the squad to play at their full potential and continuously improve individual players. The right person will be expected to be responsible for heading up the Performance Group consisting of their coaching team, Woman’s Head Coach and Physio. The Performance Group will report to the Director of Rugby on a regular basis.

Lismore RFC are currently settling into their new facilities at Inch Park, in the South of Edinburgh, this year. The new facilities consist of 1 re-designed pitch and a new International Standard pitch which will be ready for the 2012/2013 season, a new clubhouse, floodlit training area which is currently going through an extension and plans for a full fitness suite including weights room currently being put in place.
Lismore RFC 1st XV currently compete in RBS East League 1 and the 2nd XV compete in East Reserve League Pod B. The Ladies team compete in National 1. The Club also have a developing Minis and Youth system. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their coaching over a broad range of ages. We currently work in 2 local High Schools and 7 Primary Schools where there will be opportunities to develop your coaching experience as well as engaging with the local community.
This role is different from most other coaching positions and is the perfect position for someone looking to make a career in coaching. The Club will look to offer the right person a suitable financial package as part of their contract.

The successful candidate will

  • Have a UKCC Level 2 Coaching Certificate (or equivalent experience)
  • Be Rugby Ready
  • Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Be able to plan, deliver and review their sessions and the teams’ progress in relation to agreed targets with the Committee

Be able to deliver safe and creative sessions as well as have a sound technical and tactical knowledge.
