Lanark Rugby Club kept their winning form with another good victory over Hyndland on Saturday.
Playing on the artificial all weather pitch at Scotstoun, they got off to a flying start with a try in the opening minute and by half time they had bagged four more.
Andrew Angus was having a field day claiming three with Markis McCaig and Steve McKeown getting the others. With the ball in the open Lanark were in sparkling form finding holes in the Hyndland defence with apparent ease. The score was 33 – 0 at half time with Iain Hughes adding four conversions.
The result and the bonus point looked secure. Hyndland had other ideas.
Two minutes from the restart their forwards had Lanark’s line under pressure and after several attempts were rewarded with a try.
Their powerful pack were denying Lanark good possession and play was more evenly matched. Lanark’s lineout was under pressure and the exchanges up front at times became heated.
Iain Hughes added two penalties for Lanark but Hyndland’s forwards crossed the line for another try to make the final score 39 – 14.
Lanark’s award for their man of the match went to wing forward David Masters.
This Saturday Lanark are at home to Strathclyde Police. The kick- off is at 2pm at Lanark Racecourse.
