Last weekend the only winner was the weather as all of the club’s teams had their games postponed.
For those fans who are suffering from withdrawal symptoms due to the lack of rugby and are not venturing into Murrayfield for the Edinburgh v Glasgow clash Jim Currie has arranged a treat in the form of a fun Peebles v Biggar game featuring the seconds and others. This will take place on Boxing Day – currently at Hay Lodge - but intending fans are asked to check the club noticeboard for any possible changes of venue.
This coming Tuesday – 27th December - the Colts – supported by BARC – travel down to Netherdale to play Gala Wanderers in a Border Semi-Junior League fixture. As the semi-junior season moves to a climax every game carries a greater significance to the Colts in their quest to gain a top four finish and all support is welcome.
There will be two discos held in the Eastgate Clubrooms over the festive holiday – the first on Christmas Eve and the second on Boxing Day – both are for members and guests only and start at 9:00pm – entry to each will be £5 – proof of age will be required as Challenge 25 is in operation.
On Boxing Day afternoon starting at 4:00pm there will be a darts and dominoes flyer for members and players.
Looking for that special present for the rugby fan in your life – then there is just time today and tomorrow to get down to McGrath’s in the Eastgate where you will be able to buy all sorts of club goodies to fill their stocking!
