This game, part of the National Selection Programme, was played at Hallhill, Dunbar, having been transferred from Murrayfield because of unplayable conditions.
It was part of a double header with Glasgow playing and winning against Caledonia in the first game. These games allowed the players to show the national selectors their skills before selection for the Christmas camp and a final trial in March.
Edinburgh throughout showed too much pace and team work for their opponents, with both backs and forwards combining well and running in 7 tries, 5 of which were converted.
The intensity of the breakdown area provided an ample supply of quick ball. The score line at half-time was 26-0 with tries from Sam Pecquer, Chris Dean, Damien Hoyland and Callum Kerr, a replacement for the injured Hoyland, 3 tries were converted by Dougie Jagger.
The second half was almost a repeat of the first but with replacements being used some of the fluency was taken out of the game. Edinburgh continued to score at regular intervals with Ramsey Young, Callum Kerr and Tommy Spinks all getting tries, two of which were converted by Jagger. Final score 45-0.
For Edinburgh this provided an opportunity for players to put their hands up for recognition. The Edinburgh management and coaches wish all players selected for the final squad all of the best in their competitive programme
