The venue for this Saturday's WEST REGION registration and training session has changed - it will now be at Hamilton RFC (see below). Other venues stay the same (see below).

Who is regional rugby suitable for?
Open to all female rugby players aged 17 and over, of all abilities, the programme will run between January and March 2012.  Players will receive expert coaching to develop their skills including handling, decision making, contact management and positional training.  Whether you’re looking to win selection into one of the regional performance squads or show your club mates how much you’ve improved your game, there’s something for every player.


I’ve just started playing rugby – can I take part?
Players are invited to come along to one of three regional rugby hubs on Saturday 28 January 2012.  After a warm-up, participants will be split into groups for coached activities.  Those new to rugby or looking to develop their game will have the opportunity for further coaching and to take part in tournaments at central locations during the programme, playing against others of a similar ability and experience level.

Regional rugby development dates for your diary are:
Sat 28 January 2012 – Registration & training session (11am-2pm, Regional rugby hub)
Sun 5 February 2012 – Central Training session (11am-2pm)
Sat 25 February 2012 – Tournament (11am-3pm, Stirling, venue tbc)

EXPERIENCED PLAYERS
I’m an experienced player – is regional rugby for me?
Experienced players and those showing talent or promise can be selected for their Regional Performance Squad, receiving additional coaching and playing fixtures against the other regional teams. Players should also register and come along to one of three regional rugby hubs on Saturday 28 January 2012 in the first instance. The regional rugby programme for experienced players will be more in-depth with additional training sessions and specialist coaching.

Regional Performance Squad dates for your diary are:
Sat 28 January 2012 – Registration and training session (11am-2pm, Regional rugby hub)
Sun 5 February 2012 –Central squad training (11am-2pm)
Sat 11 February 2012 – Regional squad training (11am-2pm)
Sat 25 February 2012 – Tournament (11am-3pm, Stirling, venue tbc)

Sun 18 March 2012 –Tournament (11am-3pm, venue tbc)
