Sutherland Relishing Club International On Home Turf

Scotland Club International lock Scott Sutherland will run out against the XV of France for the third time this Friday (24 February).

This time round though there is some added excitement as he gets to represent his country at the ground he plays his club rugby, Millbrae in Ayr.

Sutherland told www.scottishrugby.org: “This will be a great occasion at Millbrae and we expect to get a lot of support down to the club to get behind Scotland.

“It’s such a great opportunity to play for the Club International team and I’m delighted to be called up again this year. There are so many good players in the club game across Scotland and to be picked out from such a big group is great for my development and a privilege to represent my country.”

The side lost to the XV of France 30-18 last year in France, but the last time Sutherland was involved in 2010 the Scots put in a performance to remember beating the French 13-9 at Netherdale and he knows that the team have the ability to do this again.

He continued: “The French have some big, strong players and their lineout and scrum is very good. However we have a pack that can certainly compete. We have worked hard in training and are gelling really well.”

The match will kick-off at 7.30pm and is FREE to attend.
