Last Saturday Glenrath Farm Eggs sponsored Peebles played local rivals Selkirk in their final RBS Premier C fixture and as usual game saw the typical Borders derby mix of passion and skill from both sides with plenty for the fans of both clubs to discuss in the bar after the game when the usual lively but friendly banter prevailed. Selkirk prevailed by 22 – 13 thanks in the main to the accuracy of David Cassidy from the kicking tee although they had chances to score tries and had the ball over the line three times only to be thwarted by some courageous and determined Peebles defence. Peebles did have some consolation in that their enterprise was rewarded by outscoring Selkirk by 2 tries to 1.
The Colts fixed up a friendly match away against North Berwick which finished up as a win for Peebles by 28 – 5 which will help in the preparation for tomorrows Border Plate Final.
