Video: Preparations Conclude For Scotstoun

Scotland 7s completed their preparations for tomorrow’s pool matches in the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s against Wales (11.58am), South Africa (3.04pm) and Russia (5.53pm) today at Scotstoun with the first run out on the newly grown turf.

The Scots are the only team to have their captain’s run within the confines of the newly developed stadium and for try-hero Andrew Turnbull, who has scored a whopping 111 HSBC Sevens World Series tries, it was a positive conclusion.

He said: “The run went really well, the last month’s preparations have been good and the boys are all working together well. The introduction of Jim [Thompson] and John [Houston] has been a boost for everyone too and they have legendary banter.

“We’ve been training here for the last few weeks and it’s been great seeing the stadium grow up around us, but this has been our first time on the main pitch and it’s feeling really good.

“I can’t wait to get out there now for the action, it’s been a long time coming and I just want to put a month’s hard work into practice.”

Tickets are going fast for the tournament on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May so either visit or get yourself down to the Stadium to pick up your tickets from the ticket centre, from £15 per day for adults.

Also, there is a selection of stands to choose from, the party stand for those wanting to show off their best fancy dress, the festival for families and the main and north stands for the touchline action.
