Scottish Rugby is saddened to hear of the death of Steven Sims, who lost his life suddenly after being diagnosed with a rare blood illness this week. He was 23.
Sims was the first XV captain for the University of St. Andrews rugby team, who won RBS Regional Division 2 Midlands this season. The scrum-half also had a passion for playing the bagpipes.
He is survived by his dad Mike, mum Joan and sister Nicola. Steven’s funeral will be held at Blackhall St Columba’s Church in Edinburgh on Friday 8 June.
