Heriot’s prop Struan Cessford, who stands at 6 foot 5 inches and weighs 122 kilos, has been called into the Scotland under-20 squad to replace injured back-rower, Alex Henderson.
Henderson injured his knee in the team’s final pool C match against Argentina on Tuesday and will no longer be able to take part in the IRB Junior World Championship. It is suspected his rehabilitation period will take a number of weeks.
Cessford comes into the side with two Scotland under-20 caps which he received off the bench against England and Wales in this year’s RBS 6 Nations Championship.
Head coach Peter Wright said: “We’re sorry to lose Alex through injury. We have brought in Struan to give him a chance to add to the experience he gained in the RBS 6 Nations and to bolster our front-row cover.”
