One of Scotland’s oldest rugby clubs have made a generous donation to a school team who will play their first ever game of rugby on Wednesday (7 November).
St Andrews University first XV have donated a set of 15 playing shirts to Lochgelly High School senior team, who will play their first ever-competitive match against Waid Academy tomorrow. David Ross, from St Andrews University, said: “We don’t have a youth section in our club, so we saw this as a tangible chance to help grow the game of rugby in Fife.
“We’re looking for more opportunities to get involved at grassroots and recently we have been coaching Madras Blues.
“It’s just a really nice touch, one of Scottish rugby’s oldest clubs helping a brand new team. We wish them all the best in their match tomorrow.”
