Scottish Rugby was greatly saddened to learn of the death of former Scotland 7s player, David Tait, who represented Scotland in 2009 at the World Series tournaments in Dubai and South Africa.

Then head coach and current Head of Performance Development with Scottish Rugby, Stephen Gemmell, said:  “He became an important member of the squad and fitted in really well with the other players. David was a pleasure to work with and had a bright future ahead of him, both within and outwith the game. The thoughts of all at Scottish Rugby are with David’s family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.”

Scottish Rugby was saddened to learn of the death of former Scotland 7s player, David Tait.

The 25-year-old, who passed away in Hong Kong, played his club rugby with Sale Sharks for five years until, in 2010, a move into a new career in finance took him to the Asian city.

David represented Scotland at sevens in 2009 at the World Series tournaments in Dubai and South Africa.
