Two under-18 games, scheduled to be held at Murrayfield on Sunday (
16 December), have now moved venue to Peffermill Playing Fields due to weather conditions.
A Caledonia under-18 takes on a Glasgow under-18, kicking off at 1.30pm, followed by Edinburgh under-18 against Borders under-18 (kick-off 3pm).
These fixtures are an important part of the national age grade programme as Scotland under-18 Head Coach Eddie Pollock outlined: “This is a continuation from the development camp in Valladolid this summer, through the game we played against Newcastle Falcons Academy in August and into the recent October camp.
“We’ve had selectors watching games over the past three months and, from Sunday’s games, we’ll be picking 30 players for the annual camp, on 27 and 28 December.”
Scottish Rugby’s Head of Performance Development, Stephen Gemmell, added: “There are over ninety players taking part in these games. They have been seen in the game and club environment and Sunday provides an opportunity for them not only to benchmark themselves against their peers but also put their hands up for selection.”
Following the end-of-year squad camp, further selections will be made and more games will take place in the new year, involving Scotland Exile players, prior to squad selection for international fixtures in March.
