Edinburgh Rugby are delighted to unveil a new and exclusive playing kit to be worn at this Sunday's final Heineken Cup Pool match against Saracens at Vicarage Road (kick-off 12.45pm).
The striking white kit was created to avoid a colour clash with their opponent's home strip, which is proportioned equally between black and red, the predominant colours of Edinburgh's home and away playing kits.
Saracens" white change strip meant there was no conflict at Murrayfield in round one, however the round six hosts have reserved the right to play in home colours, at home.
The result is a one off, limited edition strip, which will be worn only for the Cup clash, and won't be available for retail.
Edinburgh Rugby managing director, Craig Docherty, said: 'the club's home and away kit for the season is designed, approved and in production long before the competition draw, so this isn't something we could have anticipated, however we are delighted with the results and the speed in which our kit supplier, Macron, has been able to turn around a very good looking kit.
"While we expect it will be very popular with supporters, it wasn't financially viable to have it mass produced for retail, however we will soon be announcing the details of a competition exclusive to our season ticket members, who will have the chance to win one the exclusive shirts as a thank you for their support this season."
Details of the competition will be announced next week and an image gallery of the new kit is now available at www.facebook.com/edinburghrugby
