Scotland have completed their preparations for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations Championship opener against England at Twickenham (kick-off 4pm, live on BBC1).
Rain had saturated the training pitches Scott Johnson’s squad had planned to use for their final run-through on Friday, so the practice was held indoors instead in the shadow of the Madejski Stadium in Reading.
Johnson confirmed a clean bill of health for his squad which includes one new cap, Sean Maitland, the Glasgow Warriors wing.
And he is determined his squad will not be over-burdened by Scotland’s record at Twickenham where they have only won three times since the 1930s – 1938, 1971 and 1983.
“Statistics are rather like bikinis,” he said. “They cover some things but there’s a lot more they don’t!”
