Scots convene for visit of Irish

The Scotland squad will gather in Edinburgh on Monday to begin detailed preparations for their third match of the RBS 6 Nations Championship - against Ireland.

Ireland travel to Murrayfield next Sunday (24 February) with Jonathan Sexton, Mick McCarthy and Gordon Darcy already ruled out through injury and prop Cian Healy through suspension.

Scotland go into the game in good heart after their 34-10 victory over Italy earlier this month, where among their four try scorers was full-back Stuart Hogg.

Ireland won the game in Dublin last year in spite of a cavalier try from Scotland lock forward Richie Gray, but on the last occasion the teams met at Murrayfield - the 2011 EMC Test - Scotland triumphed with a try from Joe Ansbro the decisive score.

The Scotland team will be announced on Wednesday and first details will be on this website and via our Twitter account @scotlandteam
