It has been confirmed that Glasgow Warriors and Scotland fly-half Duncan Weir sustained a fracture to his right fibula during Friday night’s game against Ospreys at Scotstoun.
He underwent a successful operation over the weekend and has now been discharged from hospital. He is subject to further assessment over the coming weeks to determine the length of time he’ll be out of action for but he will not play again this season.
Duncan Weir said: "I'd like to thank everyone for their messages of support over the weekend. My phone has not stopped and it's really helped me over the last couple of days."
Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "We're all gutted for Duncan. He's had a really good season and he'll be disappointed to miss the final few games. He's now on the road to recovery and we wish him all the best for his rehabilitation."
We will provide further updates when they are available.
