Scottish Rugby and their principal partner, RBS, are delighted to announce Heriot’s winger Colin Goudie as RBS Try of the Month winner for March.
Goudie, 25, who is a trainee ophthalmologist in the capital, won the award for his try against Boroughmuir at Meggetland on Saturday 2 March. Heriot’s won the match 23-22.
Scotland 7s head coach, Stephen Gemmell, gave this month’s try the nod.
Goudie said: “I didn’t really do much in the try, I just finished it off. Watching the video back we all realised how good a team try it was because so many players were involved and it started from our own 22.
“This season has been a good fun year, because the team has now been together for a long time and we’re a tight knit group. We made a lot of improvements on last year, but there is still a lot of work still to be done.
“We could have finished anywhere between third and ninth in the league with the new league structure this season, which also added a lot of thrill to the games.”
Colin will receive two tickets for an upcoming home international match and could be shortlisted for the Brigadier Frank Coutts Memorial Try of the Season award later this year.
The award will be presented at the annual Scottish Rugby Club Awards Dinner on Friday 31 May. Bookings are now being taken at £37 per head. Please note a table takes up to ten people.
