Afternoon lessons took on a whole new slant for Primaries 6 and 7 at Caledonia PS in Baillieston yesterday (1 May) when the entire Kenya sevens squad dropped in to expand the pupils' knowledge on geography, history and PE.
Squeezing into the 'wee seats' in Mr Weir's classroom, the players and management were quizzed on topics ranging from 'how many countries have you played in?' (answer - a lot!) to 'who gets all the goals?' (fifth top try scorer of all time, Collins Injera, was on hand to claim that one).
The youngsters were then allowed to miss the rest of afternoon lessons as they piled out into the sports field for some sevens fun and games with the internationalists, who were happy to get involved in skills sessions and general fun and games.
Kenyan fly half, Biko Adema said:
"It's always humbling to come and meet the children, see how the schools are run in the different coutries we go to, interact with the kids - and it gets us away from the hard training for a while!"
Kenya currently lie fifth equal in the HSBC Sevens World Series standings and meet South, Africa, Samoa and Canada in their pool games on Saturday (4 May) at the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s at Scotstoun.
