Eye on Isles

The player dubbed “the fastest man in world rugby” – with a lightning personal best of 10.24 seconds for the 100 metres – will be at Scotstoun tomorrow (Saturday 4 May) for the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s.
Carlin Isles, the 23-year-old American, who has been a star for the US Eagles on this season’s HSBC Sevens World Series, has swapped from track to rugby field and his fast-paced, try-scoring exploits have attracted more than 2 million hits on YouTube.
Nigel Starmer-Smith, the doyen of TV commentators, said: “I’ve never seen anyone that quick on a rugby field ever, XVs or sevens.”
Isles’ US team are vying with Scotland to remain a core team in the world series and tickets are still available  (and will be both tomorrow and Sunday) so you can be at Scotstoun to watch the speed sensation, cheer on Scotland and see 14 other of the best international sevens teams on the planet.

He said: "There's a little bit of pressure, with Scotland being our main rivals, but we can't dwell on the pressure we have to focus on what we do."
