One Direction to Play Murrayfield

The world's biggest pop band are coming to Scotland and will play Murrayfield Stadium on Tuesday 3 June 2014, the only Scottish date on a stadium tour that kicks off in Latin America before returning home to the UK and Ireland.

With their two globe conquering albums, Up All Night and Take Me Home, One Direction – Niall, Louis, Harry, Liam and Zayn – have established themselves as the biggest, most exciting and in-demand band in pop music worldwide. Their current Take Me Home tour has so far taken them to arenas across Europe, and this summer will head to the US before ending in Australia and Japan in November. Their highly anticipated 3D concert film This Is Us, directed by Morgan Spurlock, will be released in August 2013.

Scottish Rugby's Head of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay said: "We're delighted that One Direction will be playing Murrayfield next summer. To host a band of this calibre with such worldwide appeal underlines the importance of the national stadium as a global venue of choice."
