Head coach Sean Lineen has made three changes to the starting Scotland under-20 side for tomorrow’s Junior World Championship clash with Wales in Nantes (Sunday 9 June, KO 5pm local time).
The sides enjoyed differing fortunes in the opening round, with the Scots going down 44-13 to fourth-ranked Argentina while the Welshmen (seeded third) cruised past remaining pool opponents Samoa (42-3).
Added to recent form is the result the last time the two sides met, with Wales running out 42-17 winners in the 6 Nations clash in Inverness in March.
Lineen said: "It's going to be tough. Overall we had a strong and competitive 6 Nations but, if there was one team the players would love to play again, it's Wales.
"It's something they’ve been looking forward to for a while and they're out to make a point.
"Wales are a quality side. They're an excellent counter attacking team and have a very strong scrum. They're big lads too so we're going to have to make sure we play the game in the right areas."
Boroughmuir pair Damien Hoyland and Alex Henderson have been brought in for injured Edinburgh Accies full-back Ruaridh Young (leg) and London Scottish back-row Tommy Spinks, who has been selected on the bench.
The final change sees Ayr centre Robbie Fergusson [pictured] rekindle a midfield partnership with former teammate Mark Bennett.
Chris Auld and Jamie Kilmartin take the vacated places of Hoyland and Fergusson on the bench, while Lineen has refreshed the prop replacements with the selection of Callum Black and James Malcolm.
