Tour benefits from hi-tech help

Forget Candy Crush Saga and Angry Birds. Relegate Instagram and Snapchat.  The coolest app in town is hitting the iPads of Scotland’s rugby players and coaches.

Thanks to AnalysisPro – a video performance analysis software company based in West Wales – Scotland’s rugby tour to South Africa this summer is being marked by innovation.

AnalysisPro Limited – who have worked with clubs and sports organisations throughout the four home countries – have created a new iPad application called APviewer.

Our picture shows new cap Peter Murchie using the app.

It allows players and coaches to review performance analysis video clips in a structured way on their own personal iPads.

Scottish Rugby’s lead performance analyst, Robert Holdsworth, said: “Using the workflow from our current timeline-based video analysis system, we’re transfering the files directly to the players’ and coaches’ IPads for them to review and give the players what they’re keen to have:  more ownership of their own performances.”

Jon Moore, owner of AnalysisPro, said: “This app adds to a growing portfolio of products such as Nacsport and Team Performance Exchange, which are focused on delivering a high-end industry-standard solution at affordable prices.

“This latest iPad app has been driven by the practitioners in the performance analysis community.  The release of this iPad app coincides with an innovative, unique control system of an IP camera that will potentially transform the way that sporting teams capture and control their video footage.

“We at AnalysisPro look forward to a growing relationship with Scottish Rugby and will listen carefully to their requirements to empower them.”
