Scotland 7s’ season, which will culminate at the Commonwealth Games, begins on Saturday 21 September with a FIRA-AER warm-up tournament in Bucharest before the nine leg HSBC Sevens World Series kicks off on Saturday 12 October in Australia.

Head coach, Stephen Gemmell, said: “Looking back to the Olympics in London last year, the support the crowd gave Team GB was huge. We’re hoping that our supporters will help create an even better atmosphere at Ibrox and for all of Team Scotland next year.

“Having the penultimate HSBC Sevens World Series event at Scotstoun in May and the Commonwealth Games in July next summer is a wonderful opportunity for rugby sevens and for us to play in front of a big home support.

“It’ll be a massive year for our sport, and given this’ll be the biggest ever sporting event to come to Glasgow, we encourage fans to get their bookings in early to ensure they aren’t disappointed.

“Pre-season is going very well and all the players are aware of how big a year this is, we can’t wait to get started.”
