Scottish Rugby is delighted to learn that the new £30 million national sport performance centre will be based at Heriot-Watt University in the west of Edinuburgh.
The announcement was made today by Scotland's Deputy First Minsiter, Nicola Surgeon, on a visit to the Riccarton campus.

A Scottish Rugby spokesman said:“Scottish Rugby welcomes today’s announcement from the Scottish Government that the new national sport performance centre will be based at Heriot-Watt University.
“We are proud to have supported the bid by Heriot Watt and Edinburgh City Council as we firmly believe that basing the facility at Heriot-Watt is the closest fit to our requirements.
“The facilities already provided at the university and those which have now been given the go ahead will create a world-class sporting facility from which the best rugby talent in Scotland will benefit in the near future and in the longer-term.
“We look forward to continuing to work with Heriot-Watt as they finalise their plans.”
