On Sunday (22 September) Taynuilt Mini Rugby Festival took place in Argyll and Bute, as part of the Dalriada festival.
There were five teams competing in the festival: Oban, Mull, Etive Vikings, Mid Argyll and highland visitors Lochaber.
There were 80 children participating and over 100 people in attendance, demonstrating the growth of rugby in the region; Glasgow Warriors supported the tournament.
Allan Wright, development officer for Argyll, said: “The event on Sunday was really good and a big success. We had a great turn out, with lots of kids from throughout the region.
“The hosts, Etive Vikings are a new club based in Taynuilt. It’s a small village, but they are currently getting around 60 kids to training every week and they had two teams playing at the festival.
“The Dalriada Festival is a season long event, where we get every club in the area to host a tournament throughout the year and then at the end the most successful team wins a trophy. The numbers have been going up every season and more and more clubs are getting involved.”
