Nayacavou to replace injured Dean

Scotland 7s head coach Stephen Gemmell has been forced to make a late change to the party that will travel to the Gold Coast for the first round of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Joseva NayacavouForward Chris Dean drops out of the squad having sustained an ankle injury in the last training session prior to the trip. Heriot’s’ Joseva Nayacavou becomes the second uncapped player in the 12 as he replaces Dean.
Gemmell said: “We’re disappointed to lose Chris who has performed well over the last six months on the world circuit. I wish him a speedy recovery.

“This does however provide an opportunity for Jo who has been with the squad full-time throughout pre-season.

"He has shown up well in training and he has been given opportunities in Lyon and Bucharest where he has demonstrated he will be a strong addition to the squad.”
