Fans travelling from the Scottish Borders to Murrayfield for the Japan (9 November) and Australia (23 November) viagogo Autumn Tests, may need to reconsider their travel arrangements due to road closures on the A7.
To help avoid the closures if you are travelling to and from the Borders by car/coach, advice Scottish Rugby has received is to use the A68 route.
On the weekend of the Japan match (Saturday 9 November) essential work on the Border Railway project will be carried out from Friday 8 November (8pm) through to Sunday 10 November (8am), forcing complete road closure of the A7 at Gore Glen, near Gorebridge. There may also be a subsequent closure on Sunday 10 November (2pm). A diversion will be set up on the B704 running through Gorebridge and Powdermill Brae during this time.
Travel from the Borders will also be affected on the weekend of the Australia viagogo Autumn Test match (Saturday 23 November) as restrictions will be in place on the A7, underneath the Lothianbridge Viaduct. The restrictions will be in place from Monday 18 November through to Monday 25 November.
During the day, traffic will be managed by temporary traffic signals on manual control with a full closure of Newtongrange High Street at night. Please take particular note of that considering the game is a late kick-off (6pm).
Fans travelling on the day of the match - as well as those who have made arrangements to travel to and from Edinburgh days before and after the game- are urged once again to use the A68 to minimise disruption.
