Mark Bennett, has been settling into the sevens lifestyle nicely, since landing in Port Elizabeth for the third leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
With a gym work-out, three rugby and pool sessions in the bag and free time to see some of the best sites that South Africa has to offer, with a visit to the Seaview Predator Park, the 20-year-old Glasgow Warriors centre is on a fast-track to adapt to the World Stage of sevens rugby.
The opportunity to play at the highest level of the abbreviated version of the game is something that excites Bennett, as it provides an opportunity to test his knowledge and basic skills in rugby’s fiercest environment.
It is also a game that offers a lot of open space to play, something the youngster loves doing:
Scotland 7s take-on France (10.50am), Australia (1.56pm) or Fiji (5.14pm) on Saturday (7 December) at the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s. All times are UK times.
Scotland 7s squad to compete in South Africa 7s (7-8 December): Scott Riddell, Joseva Nayacavou (Heriot's), Gregor Young, Jack Ferguson (Watsonians), John Houston, Mark Robertson, Alex Glashan, Colin Gregor (captain), Mark Bennett (Glasgow Warriors), Andrew Turnbull, Lee Jones (Edinburgh Rugby) and Michael Maltman.
